Bridging the Gap

The action plan Bridging the Gap, approved by City Council in November 2018, aims to increase the number of preschool spaces.

The plan lasts until the end of 2026 and primarily involves the construction of new preschools, as well as extensions to older preschools, new preschool units, and an increase in the number of children in private preschools.

What changes?

In total, the plan involves opening numerous new preschools between 2018 and 2026 and increasing both the number of preschool units and extensions to existing preschools in Reykjavík.

Additionally, there will be a significant increase in spaces at private preschools.

Fossvogsblettur

Nýr leikskóli á Fossvogsbletti er dæmi um leikskóla sem er í byggingu. Leikskólabyggingin er á einni hæð með flötu þaki og stendur austast á lóðinni. U-laga form hennar myndar eins konar faðm til vesturs þar sem skjólgott og rólegt útisvæði myndar aðkomutorg leikskólans.

Skólinn mun hýsa 10 leikskóladeildir sem dreifast í þrjá húshluta. Hver deild samanstendur af heimastofu, tveimur hóprýmum og snyrtingu. Deildirnar sameinast um matstofur og opin rými.

Byggingin verður Svansvottuð.
