Description of the action and objectives

Green Deal action

The Department of Welfare will provide education for all its staff, focusing on user-focused design, cultural sensitivity, and a culture of service. This education is a key action for achieving the goals of the Welfare Policy and changing the service culture of the Department. The education supports four general objectives of the Welfare Policy:

  1. Every individual is unique
  2. Respect and care
  3. Proactivity and prevention
  4. Professionalism and vision

Action completed. Torgid, the City's eLearning system, opened at the Department of Welfare in June 2023.

  January 2024 Torgið, the City's eLearning system, opened at the Department of Welfare in June 2023. Implementation is ongoing, and many employees have already used Torgið. It includes education on cultural sensitivity and services.

All educational programs at the Department are based on the Welfare Policy. Torgið, the eLearning system for municipal staff, is being introduced and certain training is being transferred to a digital format.

  January 2023 All educational curriculum of Reykjavík City's Department of Welfare is developed based on the Welfare Policy. Torgið, the eLearning system for municipal staff, is being introduced and certain training is being transferred to a digital format.
  July 2022 All educational curriculum of Reykjavík City's Department of Welfare is developed based on the Welfare Policy. Torgið, the eLearning system for municipal staff, is being introduced and certain training is being transferred to a digital format. Cultural sensitivity training is a collaborative project of all departments, however, the Department of Welfare may custom design a part of the cultural sensitivity training.
