There are few things better for mental, physical, and social health than the outdoors and exercise—and soaking in the hot tub is beyond compare! You can find more information about the City's swimming pools below.

The Reykjavík Card

Build your card and choose what works for you. The Reykjavík Card gives you access to the best the city has to offer. You choose what goes on the card and can store everything on your phone: a swim pass, a Culture Card, the geothermal beach at Nauthólsvík, the Reykjavík Family Park & Zoo or fitness access at Klébergslaug. The choice is yours!

You can apply for the card in person at your nearest Reykjavík swimming pool, the Reykjavík City Library, City Museum, the Reykjavík Art Museum, the Reykjavík Family Park & Zoo or the geothermal beach.

Cost of swimming

New swimming pool fees were approved by the City Council in April 2026 and took effect May 5, 2026.

Swimming pool hours

Most days of the year, swimming pools have regular opening hours. There are different opening hours around Christmas, Easter, and other public holidays.

Water aerobics

Most Reykjavík City swimming pools offer water aerobics.
