Children's Culture Festival 2025

Thank you for attending the Children's Culture Festival!

It is estimated that over 20.000 people attended the 400 events on the Children's Culture Festival program, which took place all around the city.
The exhibitions and events at the festival were well attended, and children enjoyed both showcasing and experiencing all that was on offer.

It is safe to say that children largely took over the cultural life of the city during the six days of the festival, showcasing their work in esteemed cultural institutions.

Nearly 8.000 people attended the program at the Adventure Hall in the Family and Petting Zoo over the weekend. People of all ages gathered in large numbers and participated in a fun program that included dancing, singing, music — and even the animals in the zoo were in a festive mood.

A great number of people have worked tirelessly in the preparation and organization of the Children's Culture Festival — staff from Reykjavik's preschools, primary schools, leisure centers, cultural institutions, and many individuals. The festival would not be as magnificent as it is without their contribution. Thank you for your efforts.

Children had the opportunity to create and enjoy with their families and friends — thank you for your contribution, it is invaluable.

Thank you for coming — we’ll see you at the Children's Culture Festival from April 21st to 26th, 2026!

The official song for the 2025 Children's Culture Festival

The official song for the 2025 Children's Culture Festival has been released and was composed by the energetic musicians of the band Inspector Spacetime.

The band consists of Egill Gauti Sigurjónsson, Elías Geir Óskarsson, and Vaka Agnarsdóttir. We are incredibly grateful that they took part in this project with us.

This year’s theme for the Children's Culture Festival is "Let’s Go Play!", and fourth-grade students across the city were given the task of answering various questions about what the phrase "going out to play" means to them. The lyrics of the song are based on the children’s responses, and the song will be premiered by Inspector Spacetime in Eldborg Hall, Harpa, on April 8.

  • Arrangement & Songwriters: Inspector Spacetime
