Big Bang Festival is an adventurous music festival for young audiences held at Harpa on the First Day of Summer.

The festival will take place at Harpa on the First Day of Summer, April 24, 2025, from 11am–4pm. The festival's goal is to increase children's access to music, and all events are free.

But what are young ambassadors?

Young ambassadors are a group of 10-12-year-old children who play an important role at the Big Bang festival by welcoming guests who come to Harpa. They provide tours around the building, introduce concerts and events, interview musicians, and play a major part in creating an unforgettable atmosphere at Harpa that day.

If you're in 5th, 6th, or 7th grade and interested in becoming a young ambassador, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit a video telling us why you're interested in participating and why you would make an excellent young ambassador.

The video should not be longer than 1 minute and should be sent to barnamenningarhatid@reykjavik.is. Application deadline is March 11, 2025.

Those selected will attend a class with musician Ingibjörg Fríða Helgadóttir and receive training in presenting, performing, conducting interviews and more.
