Hitt Húsið

Center for young people

We offers school-related recreational programs for disabled young people aged 16-20 who are in secondary school vocational programs. The main goal is to promote activity and social participation of young people in their free time. The program uses the local environment to train young people in independence, social skills and communication skills. The program is based on individualized services that try to work with each person's strengths and always try to meet the different needs and interests of the young people.

Activities take place between 1pm and 5pm on weekdays at Hitt Húsið on Rafstöðvarvegur. We accept participants in care categories 1-3 as defined by the Social Insurance Administration. This application is for the start of the fall semester 2019.
