Children's Culture Festival 2025
Thank you for joining us at the Children's Culture Festival!
An estimated 20,000 people attended 400 events on the Children's Culture Festival program that took place throughout the city.
Exhibits and events at the festival were well-attended, with children enjoying both presenting their work and experiencing everything on offer.
Children largely took over the city's cultural life during the six-day festival, displaying their work at respected cultural institutions.
Nearly 8,000 people attended the Adventure Palace program at the Reykjavík Family Park & Zoo over the weekend. People of all ages gathered and participated in the fun-filled program featuring dance, singing and music — and all the animals in the park were in a festive mood too.
Numerous people worked tirelessly to prepare and organize the Children's Culture Festival, including Reykjavík City staff from preschools, primary schools, recreation centers, cultural institutions, and individuals. The festival wouldn't be as magnificent without their contributions. Thank you for your contribution.
Children had the opportunity to create and enjoy with family and friends. Thank you for your contribution — it's invaluable.
Thank you for coming. See you at the Children's Culture Festival, April 21-26, 2026!
Children's Culture Festival 2025 Song
The Children's Culture Festival 2025 song has been released, composed by the fun-loving members of the band Inspector Spacetime.
The band consists of Egill Gauti Sigurjónsson, Elías Geir Óskarsson and Vaka Agnarsdóttir. We are incredibly grateful that they participated in this project with us.
This year's Children's Culture Festival theme is "outdoor play," and fourth-grade students across the city were asked to answer various questions about what the phrase "outdoor play" means to them. The song's lyrics are based on the children's responses, and Inspector Spacetime will premiere the song in Harpa's Eldborg Hall on April 8.
