The Chief Executive Officer is the highest ranked official in Reykjavik, except for the Mayor, and is one of the Mayor’s substitutes. The Office of the Mayor and Chief Executive Officer is under the authority of incumbent CEO and the Office of Human Rights & Democracy.
Role of the Chief Executive Officer
The CEO oversees the central administration and support services for Reykjavík City and is the liaison for Reykjavík City with regional partnerships and B-part companies.
