There are four centers in Reykjavík where residents and staff of Reykjavík City can get service, information, support, and advice on matters of welfare, school, and recreation. We also have an Online Center as the first point of contact for service users.

Changes to Reykjavík City Center operations
Reykjavík City is updating how it organizes its welfare service at the start of the new year. The City's Centers will dissolve in their present form, though their operations will continue unchanged until Jan. 1, 2027.
This transition is part of a new organizational structure for the Department of Welfare and the Department of Education and Youth, which takes effect no later than the turn of the year. Key goals of the changes include simplifying and better coordinating services citywide, as well as strengthening professional services for children and families.
Until then, residents can contact the Centers just as they always have. Additional details about the new service arrangements will be published as they become available.
