Recreational activities for disabled people

The City runs various recreational activities for disabled people. The are after-school programs and a youth center for disabled children and adolescents at Klettaskóli, three youth center for disabled children and adolescents in general primary schools and Brúarskóli. Hitt Húsið

Hitt Húsið offers recreational activities for disabled young people who are enrolled in vocational programs in upper secondary education. The primary goal of these activities is to promote the activity and social inclusion during their free time.

 

Once a week there is also an open evening activity session for the age group 16 to 30. Hitt Húsið is a participant in the Art Without Borders festival.

 

In the summer, young people who have participated in school year activities are offered employment-related leisure activities. The objective is for the youth to experience various jobs in the general labor market and for the labor market to become acquainted with them.
