Culture Night in Reykjavík

Reykjavík’s largest anniversary and city festival, Culture Night, will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025. You could say the festival is the highlight of the summer, with fun events coloring daily life in the city center from morning to evening. The festival is for all city residents and guests who want to join the celebration and have fun. Many families and groups of friends now have a tradition of meeting up on Culture Night to enjoy a fun-filled day together.

Street closures on Culture Night

In consultation with the Reykjavík Metropolitan Police, parts of the city center will be closed to driving to ensure the safety of Culture Night attendees.

Generally, street closures will be in effect from 7am on Saturday, August 23, and will last until 1am, unless otherwise stated.

Accessibility for all

Culture Night strives to ensure good accessibility for all.
