Description of the action and objectives
Green Deal action
Emphasis will be placed on environmental certification (Nordic Swan Ecolabel) of buildings, both new construction and renovation/maintenance projects during 2024-2025. Fiskislóð and structures in Úlfársárdalur are in the BREEAM certification process.
Implementation period
Planned completion in the second half of 2025
Status report on July 1, 2024
Work is underway to increase environmental certifications for city-owned buildings. Six applications have been submitted to the Environment Agency for Nordic Swan Ecolabel certified renovations: Fífuborg, Garðaborg, Grandaborg, Hálsaborg, Hólabrekkuskóli, and Vörðuskóli.
