Payment for school attendance in another municipality
For children with legal residence in Reykjavík who want to attend primary school in another municipality, submit a request to the city for subsidized school attendance. The application must be received before April 1 of each year.
How do I apply?
Submit a payment request for school attendance in another municipality through My Pages. Log in using your electronic ID.
To submit the request, you must meet these criteria:
- Be a registered guardian of a primary school-age child.
- Share the same legal residence as the child in Reykjavík.
What happens after I apply?
Reykjavík City will review the request as soon as possible. If approved, the city will pay the relevant municipality for the child's school attendance for the requested year.
