About the Geothermal Beach

Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach uses hot water from the city's hot water supply, which flows into two hot tubs and into the ocean bay. The bay is partially enclosed with a seawall on the east side to limit water exchange. The bay is open to the fjord, allowing tidal changes and mixing hot water with seawater.

There is a sandy beach and excellent outdoor facilities. Changing facilities and various services are available on-site.
