Lunch at community centers
It's rewarding to sit down to a healthy meal in a comfortable environment. Hot lunches are available for purchase at Welfare Services' community centers every weekday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Do I need to sign up for lunch?
People who want to eat at community centers need to register for lunch on-site or by phone before 1 p.m. the day before.

How much does lunch cost at a community center?
- Lunch (retirement and disability pension recipients): 1,900 kr.
- Lunch with a discount coupon available from the kitchen: 1,500 kr.
- General price: 2,378 kr.
How do I apply for a fee reduction?
- You can apply for a fee reduction through My Pages.
- You have to have income within the Social Insurance Administration's cost-of-living index
- The maximum income thresholds for an exemption are:
- 486,076 kr. per month (if you live alone)
- 416,950 kr. (if you live with others).
- You can also fill out an application in PDF format and send it to maturinnheim@reykjavik.is.
Have a suggestion about the food service?
You can submit a suggestion through Reykjavík City's Suggestion Portal, by emailing maturinnheim@reykjavik.is, or by contacting the service center at 411-1111.
Suggestions about food quality are forwarded to the production kitchen of Krydd og kavíar, the company responsible for meal preparation.
