Green Deal action

Planning competition for the construction of a residential area and transport hub in Vatnsmýri. The transportation hub in Vatnsmýri will become the major stop for public transportation within the capital area, the CityLine and Strætó Public Transport, in addition to being the starting and ending stop for air and bus travel outside the capital area.

The project is in its early stages, and a group of experts was convened to shape the preliminary main points of the contest description in October 2022. Moving forward, it was decided to conduct further analysis on the potential location of a transportation hub east of Landspítali.
