Description of the action and objectives

Green Deal action

The mapping will analyze the distribution of creative spaces in terms of quantity, size, and location across the city to better support artists. Spaces for outdoor and indoor events, as well as workspaces. Assess in detail the variety among art disciplines and spaces for grassroots and young artists. Create a development plan in collaboration with appropriate neighborhood councils and youth councils. It will be considered whether a temporary hire of university students is feasible for this mapping.

Status report on July 1, 2025

Vigdís Jakobsdóttir prepared a report for Reykjavík City and the Icelandic government and presented it to the MÍR council. Art professional groups were also briefed on the matter.
