Are you working on a book, a film, a TV series, a website, or any other kind of project related to the history of Reykjavík and plan to use images from the Reykjavík Museum of Photography in your project? Then you can apply for a grant from Reykjavík City to offset the purchase cost. The grant is a discount on the cost of publishing images.f

How do I apply?

Applications for support for visual media must include applicant information and a description of the planned media project. A price estimate from the Reykjavík Museum of Photography for planned photo purchases must also be included, according to the Museum's fees. The grant does not cover the value-added tax on the use of images.

Apply for a visual storytelling grant through My Pages on this website. Applications for 2026 will open on Friday, May 1, and close on Thursday, May 31.
