Grants for visual storytelling of Reykjavík's history

Are you working on a book, a film, a TV series, a website, or any other kind of project related to the history of Reykjavík and plan to use images from the Reykjavík Museum of Photography in your project? Then you can apply for a grant from Reykjavík City to offset the purchase cost. The grant is a discount on the cost of publishing images.f 

How do I apply?

Applications for visual storytelling grants should include information about the applicant as well as a project description. It should also include a price estimate from the Reykjavík Museum of Photography for planned image purchases, in accordance with the Museum's fees. The grant does not cover the value-added tax on the use of images. 

Apply for a visual storytelling grant through My Pages on this website. The application opens at 12 noon on May 8 and the deadline is at 12 noon on May 29, 2023.  

Storytelling and culture

The goal of the grant is to support the robust communication of Reykjavík's cultural heritage and history. A panel, composed of three Reykjavík City specialists from the Department of Culture & Sports, reviews applications and makes recommendations to the Culture, Sports & Leisure Council.
