Daily activities
The distinguishing feature of Draumaland is its rich intercultural diversity, a strong emphasis on club activities, and encouraging children to lead as much of the work as possible. The location enables short and long field trips for the kids to visit the city center, the harbor, Klambratún, and Hljómskálagarðurinn, to name a few examples. On Fridays, theres a Fourth Grader Club where fourth graders get to enjoy age-suitable projects.

Children's program action plan
Bullying in school and recreational activities
Bullying and violence can have a lasting impact on the psyche of children and adolescents. It should not be accepted school and recreational activities. All workplaces for children and adolescents have an anti-bullying plan. Parents who receive indications or information about bullying should take it seriously and report it to the relevant parties. Workplaces of the Department of Education & Youth of Reykjavík City operate according to a bullying checklist developed in extensive consultation with professionals.

Parent guide
We strive to build strong partnerships with parents and otherswho are involved in the child's daily life, including schools, sports clubs and service centers. The parent guide contains information about our facilities, daily programs, snacks and much more.
Disruption to school and recreational activities
Officials have issued recommendations for parents and guardians of children in schools and recreational activities. Capital area municipalities have assigned SHS to monitor weather conditions and forecasts and send out alerts when needed, working with police and education authorities as appropriate.
Child prosperity
The Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties. Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a prosperity liaison in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The prosperity liaison offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services. Children, youth, and guardians can reach the school prosperity liaison to request integrated services.
Information on the prosperity contacts for children at the Draumasel after-school program can be found on the website of Austurbæjarskóli
