Cross-country skiing trails in the capital area

Cross-country skiing trails (loipes) are laid in and around the capital area when weather permits. Up-to-date information on the location and availability of these trails is shared on our dedicated Facebook page.

Reykjavík City, in cooperation with Sporið, lays trails at Hólmsheiði and Rauðavatn when conditions allow. Ullur cross-country skiing club has laid trails in Heiðmörk. Various others have been laying trails in the capital area. Trails are also laid in Bláfjöll.
