Increased availability of City information in English to facilitate the integration of foreign residents into the community.

Most pages on Reykjavik.is are mirrored in clear, simple English with the same vocabulary and style. This ensures non-native Icelandic speakers have the same information as those who read Icelandic.

January 2023 | Reykjavík City's Web Division is constantly working to update the City's website to make it more compatible with machine translation engines and to improve the engine's Icelandic to improved automatic translations. Work is underway to complete the draft English version of the website and remove the disclaimer. Testing of Polish translations is proceeding, as well as the ongoing collection of material for the Polish language corpus in relation to a development project from the government's language technology plan. A review of Reykjavík's web policy is taking place. | |

Efforts are underway to fix all known issues on the English website and its connections. Continuing on, the focus for the next quarter is on receiving better proposals from translation providers and linking glossaries for names and places. |
