The Climate Recognition from the City of Reykjavik and Festa acknowledges and recognizes the efforts made towards combating climate change. The goal of the Recognition is to raise awareness of the good work being done to combat climate change and inspire others to follow suit.

Proposals should have the subject “Loftslagsviðurkenning 2021” and be emailed to usk@reykjavik.is or sent by mail to the City of Reykjavik, Borgartún 12–14, 105 Reykjavik. The Climate Recognition will be presented at the next Reykjavik City and Festa Climate Summit.
On November 23, 2017, the City Executive Council decided to award the annual Reykjavík City Climate Recognition. The Recognition is awarded to companies, associations, institutions, and individuals who have made a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The selection of the recipients will be made by a committee consisting of three representatives, one each from Festa, the City, and the University of Iceland. The Department of Environment & Planning will provide the committee with support through an employee.
The Selection Committee will make its decision based on the results and actions taken by companies, associations, institutions, or individuals in regards to educating on climate change issues, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and finding new solutions to address climate change.
