Green Growth
Description of the action and objectives
Green Deal action
The green transition will be built on justice, fairness and participation. We want to nurture a modern society where the benefits of technological progress are distributed fairly. In Reykjavík, everyone can find a path for their ideas and actively participate in the economy and innovation. Regardless of origin, nationality, class, language, color, religion, philosophical beliefs, political views, atheism, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sexual characteristics, age, disability, physique, body form, health, physical ability, or other status, we aim for all people to have the same opportunities.
Implementation period
Planned completion in the second half of 2024
Status report on July 1, 2024
Information about grant recipients receiving funding from the Reykjavík Municipal Treasury is gender-analyzed using gender-based budgeting methods. In the application form, the grant recipient specifies which community groups the project serves. Projects receiving Reykjavík City grants need to comply with the City of Reykjavík's Human Rights Policy. A review of Reykjavík City's current grant regulations is underway to enable year-round applications for city grants with distributions once or twice yearly. This is being done to equalize opportunities for all applicants.
Reykjavík City's specialized councils are responsible for handling grant applications in their fields and appoint expert groups to review applications and provide advice on processing them. Gender ratios in expert groups should be as equal as possible.
Reykjavík City has representatives in the steering groups of innovation accelerators in which the city participates, ensuring that team selection aligns with city policies.
