  Timeline Progress description
July 2024 It's known that to strengthen the city's image and attract capital, new businesses and talented people, a good approach includes appearing on comparative lists with other cities. Reykjavík City has gathered various data on the city's sustainability and submitted it to Economist Impact to be included in the 'Urban Performance Index' (UPI), a new measurement framework designed to assess sustainable development in cities worldwide. Behind UPI is Economist Impact, which has developed the framework in collaboration with and funded by UN-Habitat.
