Green Deal action

Working on new promotional materials that raise awareness of Reykjavík as a city to visit, live, study, work, and create. Work is done based on the main goals of the City of Reykjavík's Tourism Policy. More details in the Green Deal 2022 - 2023 and Reykjavík City's Tourism Policy.

Status report on January 1, 2023

A new Action Plan for the Employment & Innovation Policy was introduced at the Presidium meeting in December 2022. The Employment & City Development Team was tasked at the meeting to seek feedback from stakeholders. The action plan was submitted for feedback on December 22, 2022, to those departments in Reykjavík City responsible for the actions defined in the Plan. The deadline for feedback was set to January 20, 2023.

The purpose of promotional materials is to establish Reykjavík's unique position in the minds of tourists and encourage people to spend more time in Reykjavík during their trip around Iceland. The promotional campaigns Restart, Reconnect, and Are You Ready for Reykjavík have kicked off, targeting mainly wealthier American and British tourists.
