Here is the school calendar for Rimaskóli. The school calendar lists the planning days as well as other important information for parents and guardians.
Most primary school students take part in the lunch program. The cost of school meals is the same at all schools. And, you do not need to pay for school lunch for more than two children from the same household.
Rimaskóli was officially founded at a meeting of the Reykjavík Education Council on April 19, 1993. Rimaskóli's construction finished in four phases around the last turn of the century, and upon final completion in November 2001, the school was finally finished and formally consecrated.
At the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, there were more than 500 students registered in 1st-10th grade, and nearly 80 staff. Rimaskóli's motto from the beginning has been "Rules - Ambition - Creation", meaning that students follow the few but clear rules set by the school, a positive ambition fills the building when it comes to achievement and participation in tasks and competitions, and that students' creativity and artistry flourish with strong and diverse teaching in relevant areas.
Tígrisbær After-School Program is for children in 1st to 4th grade at Rimaskóli, and Sigyn Youth Center offers a variety of fun activities for children and adolescents.

The Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties. Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a contact person in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The contact person offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services. Children, youth, and guardians can contact the school contact person to request integrated services.
The contact person for Rimaskóli is: Jóhanna Kristín Snævarsdóttir
