Stækkun á gjaldskyldum svæðum samþykkt 12.júní 2024 Á fundi Umhverfis- og skipulagsráðs 12.júní 2024 var samþykkt gjaldskylda í hverfi. Tilgangurinn með gjaldskyldunni er meðal annars að skapa aukið svigrúm fyrir bifreiðar íbúa og þá aðila sem sækja þjónustu á þeim svæðum sem slíkt á við. Reynslan sýnir að með gjaldskyldu er hægt að hafa veruleg áhrif á hverjir nota tiltekin bílastæði og í hvaða tilgangi. Niðurstöður talninga sýna mikla og stöðuga nýtingu bílastæða á jöðrum núverandi gjaldsvæða, sem gefa tilefni til að stækka gjaldsvæði á tilgreindum stöðum í samræmi við verklagsreglur. Hér er helstu spurningum svarað.

Extra parking tariffs (commonly referred to as parking tickets) are imposed when paid parking has not been paid for. Parking violation charges, in turn, are imposed when a car or other vehicle is parked illegally.
People with reduced mobility who have difficulty getting to and from public parking may be eligible for a disability parking permit. With a disability parking mermit, individuals can park in designated spaces and park for free in paid parking spaces. The card also allows for free parking in parking garages operated by Reykjavík City.
