How to pay for parking or request a review of a citation?

This page provides instructions from the Reykjavík Parking Service on how individuals and businesses can pay for parking in Reykjavík or request a review of a parking citation.

Individuals

  • Information about citations appears on island.is. At the same time, a claim will be created in the online bank.

Tickets are no longer placed under windshield wipers.

Paying for parking:

  • Through the vehicle owner's or operator's online bank
  • On the Reykjavík Parking Service website by entering the license plate number and date
  • Pay citation
  • Payment can be made with a payment slip at a bank or through online banking if the payer is someone other than the owner or operator, but this requires the claim number from island.is.

    This information can be obtained from the owner/operator or by calling the Service Center at 411-1111

    Requesting a review of a citation:

    When requesting a review of a citation, people submit a request called Request to appeal a parking citation

  • Owners/operators can log in using electronic ID through the Reykjavík Parking Service website
  • Submit a parking citation review request

    Drivers should contact the vehicle owner/operator and ask them to request a review of the citation. You can also contact the Service Center at 411-1111

Company

Authorized signatories of companies, organizations, and institutions can log in to Ísland.is to access information about citations.

Note that authorized signatories must be registered with the tax authorities as authorized signatories for the relevant entity

Authorized signatories of companies can log in to My Pages on the Reykjavík City website to submit a request for review of a parking citation.

Companies can apply for business access by sending an email to info@reykjavik.is
