Krakkakot, a program for children in grades 1 through 4 at Hvassaleitisskóli, offers a variety of recreational activities. In these activities, focus is given to enhancing children's social skills, self-image, and active participation through structured programs. Krakkakot is undergoing implementation for UNICEF recognition as a rights respecting after-school program and actively incorporates the philosophy of Recreational Literacy. Krakkakot is managed by the Kringlumýri recreation center.

Extended attendance
On professional development days, parent conference days, and during Christmas and Easter holidays, Krakkakot is open all day from 8am to 5pm with prior registration. There is an additional charge for extended stays on these days. Krakkakot is closed during the school's winter holidays.
