Hlaðan

Hlaðan is part of The Recreational Park, which Reykjavík City runs as an outdoor recreation area and outdoor education site. The hall is used for a variety of activities in our daily operations and is also available for rent to individuals and businesses for events.

A unique feature of Hlaðan is how well it complements the outdoor activities and programs available throughout the surrounding Recreational Park.

Hlaðan belongs to the historic Gufunesbaer farm, which was originally a working farm. When farming operations ended, the barn was renovated into its current form and the surrounding area became a recreation and family destination. The area's rich history remains visible today, giving the location distinctive character and a welcoming countryside feel.
