Training of institutional chefs in primary schools and preschools
Description of the action and objectives
Green Deal action
A course and workshop will be offered for the Department of Education & Youth's institutional chefs. There will be instructions on food safety, meal planning, and preparation of vegetable-based and allergenic foods. We also work on education and workshops for institutional chefs with the goal of finding ways to increase cooperation, healthier and more satisfying food, the supply of vegetarian dishes, and other ways to reduce environmental impacts.

Status report on January 1, 2023
Action completed. A class for cafeteria staff was held at the Junior College in Kópavogur in the fall of 2022. Participation was somewhat lower than expected. Plans are in place to repeat the class in a year with improved advertising.

Preparation and planning work for a workshop is almost done, the plan is for the workshop to take place in August after the summer holidays but before the school term begins. |
