Mayor's Neighborhood Days in Breiðholt

Mayor Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir will visit city neighborhoods over the coming weeks and months.

During Neighborhood Days, the mayor will visit public schools and other city facilities, meet with local city staff, talk with residents and representatives from community organizations, sports clubs and parent associations, and host open events where people can discuss issues with her and senior city officials.

The next Neighborhood Days will take place in Breiðholt Sept. 29-Oct. 3.

The neighborhood features strong school, recreation and sports programs, including excellent athletic facilities at ÍR and Leiknir. Breiðholtslaug pool is at the heart of the neighborhood and popular with residents.

Schedule for the mayor's visit

During Neighborhood Days, Mayor Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir will visit schools in the area. She will meet with representatives from the schools' parent associations and speak with school administrators and other staff members. She will also learn about other city activities in the neighborhood and meet with community organizations and sports club representatives in Breiðholt.

The mayor invites residents to an art walk and discussion at 5 p.m. on Sept. 29. We’ll meet at Gerðuberg.

On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the mayor invites you for coffee and conversation at Mjóddin at 4 p.m.
