What’s on the menu?

Most primary school students take part in the lunch program. The cost of school meals is the same at all schools. And, you do not need to pay for school lunch for more than two children from the same household. The registration for meals will continue from the last school year so students who were signed up for meals last year do not need to register again.

About Breiðholtsskóli

Breiðholtsskóli has about 450 students in grades 1-10 and 73 staff members. The school is located at the heart of Breiðholt, at Arnarbakki 1 - 3. Next to the school is a good outdoor swimming pool and a large sports hall. Everyone's success is a priority and the guiding principles for our daily activities are responsibility, trust, and consideration. Our school prides itself on its diverse community of students, parents, and staff members.

The Bakkasel after-school program is for children in grades 1 to 4 in Breiðholtsskóli and the Bakkinn youth center offers a variety of fun activities for children and adolescents.

Starting school 2023

School starts on Tuesday, August 22, with a full school day for grades 2-10.

Children entering 1st grade will attend interviews with their parents with homeroom teachers on August 22 in rooms 6 and 8.
