The Breiðholt Got Talent competition marked its fifteenth year this February. The event stands as one of the biggest annual highlights of youth center and recreational programming in Breiðholt.
Jenna and Melissa triumph in after-school showcase
The morning session featured performances from the after-school program division, with each of the seven programs presenting two acts. Jenna and Melissa from Vinasel claimed first place at Breiðholt Got Talent – After-School 2025 with their performance of APT, the recent hit by Rosé and Bruno Mars, combining singing and dance.
Hosts stunned by exceptional talent
Organizers spared no effort in creating a spectacular showcase, with both hosts and participants taking immense pride in the production. This year's hosts, Embla and Kári from KrakkaRúv, were left speechless by the remarkable talent displayed throughout Breiðholt. Following preliminary rounds at the after-school programs, 13 acts advanced to intensive rehearsals, building anticipation for the main event. The selection committee faced a difficult task choosing between the outstanding performances.
Mikael takes top honors in youth competition
The evening program showcased young performers from Bakkinn, Hólmasel, and Hundrað&ellefu. Youth participants voted on three acts selected by the committee, with Mikael Freyr from Hólmasel emerging as the champion of Breiðholt Got Talent 2025. A parallel singing competition determined Breiðholt's representative for the upcoming Samfés singing contest. Saga Matthildur, 2023 Idol winner and former Miðberg staff member, judged the singing competition, which Judith Stefnisdóttir from Hólmasel won, earning her place in the spring Samfés singing contest.

The Miðberg recreation center staff who organized the competitions expressed their pride in both the event's success and the impressive talent displayed by Breiðholt's young performers.
