We encourage the overall development and education of everyone and promote positive student behavior in line with the educational approach of positive discipline. The school operates a special division for autism, meant for children with an autism spectrum diagnosis. The school's motto is respect, responsibility, kindness. The future vision of the school is for everyone to feel they belong. The school believes that cultural diversity enriches the school operations, and importance is placed on respect for individual origin and culture.

Students in 1st and 2nd grade participate in a combination of school and recreational activities until 3:40pm. Afterward, there is the option to enroll children in the after-school program until 5pm. Third- and fourth-grade students can participate in the recreational activities at Hraunheimar which is a joint after-school program for Fellaskóli and Hólabrekkuskóli and the youth center Hundrað&ellefu offers a wide range of entertaining activities for children and adolescents.

Child prosperity

The Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties. Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a prosperity contact in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The prosperity contact offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services. Children, youth, and guardians can reach the school prosperity contact to request integrated services.
