Daily activities

The after-school program serves children in grades 1-4. It opens after the regular school day ends and stays open until 5pm. The after-school program is popular with all years and it is our specialty how many 4th graders attend Kastali. The 1st and 2nd graders cooperate a lot in free play and workshops. The program for 3rd and 4th graders is more diverse, and great emphasis is placed on planning activities for the older children. For example, 4th grade puts up a play every year, organizes and goes on a graduation trip in May, and is given a monthly program consisting of workshops and clubs, much like a small youth center.

Child prosperity

The Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties. Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a prosperity contact in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The prosperity contact offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services. Children, youth, and guardians can reach the school prosperity contact to request integrated services.

Information on the prosperity contacts for children at the Kastali after-school program can be found on the website of Húsaskóli.
