New map view of housing construction
Description of the action and objectives
Green Deal action
To improve information delivery about housing construction in the city, an interactive information map will be developed that will show where buildings are being built in Reykjavík and the location of future building areas. It will be possible to view them by different construction stages and by neighborhoods: apartments under construction, apartments with approved zoning, apartments in planning process, and apartments in development areas. Overall, these are details of about 26 thousand apartments from the Housing Plan that will be visible on the map. To put this large development into context, there are currently around 58 thousand residences in Reykjavík.
Implementation period
Planned completion in the second half of 2022
Status report on January 1, 2023
Action completed. The map view was officially launched at the Mayor's presentation on dwelling reconstruction in Reykjavík on November 4, 2022. The map view is updated quarterly, alongside the preparation of quarterly housing reports.
