Philosophy
The values of Múlaborg are respect, trust, and equality
At Múlaborg preschool, we use the concepts of experience, interest, and activity from John Dewey and Howard Garner's theory of multiple intelligences to guide our teaching approach. We also incorporate ideas from Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky on the construction of knowledge. As an inclusive school, we prioritize equality and inclusivity in all aspects, including promoting equal rights for women and men, and creating a welcoming environment for children with and without disabilities to learn, work, and interact together. At Múlaborg, we provide advice for teaching children with disabilities to professionals and other interested parties.

Parent cooperation
We are all in this together, and as the proverb goes it takes a village to raise a child. Reykjavík City preschools make targeted efforts to consult with and increase parent involvement in preschool activities.
All Reykjavík City preschools have parent associations and parent councils.
The Center for Múlaborg
Múlaborg Preschool falls under North Center. North Center provides a wide range of services to the residents of Laugardalur and Háaleiti and is a comprehensive information source for municipal services. The Center provides welfare services, school services to preschool and primary schools, day care and recreational counseling, and various other services.

Child prosperity
The Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties.
Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a contact person in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The contact person offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services.
Children, youth, and guardians can contact the school contact person to request integrated services.
The contact persons for Múlaborg are: Brynhildur Guðmundsdóttir and Eyrún Bjarnadóttir
Projects
In November 2022, a preschool extension was opened to accommodate 60 children. With this expansion, the preschool can now serve 140 children. This expansion is a part of the Bridging the Gap development initiative, which aims to bridge the gap parental leave and preschool.
