Week6
Week6 is a sex education initiative for young people held during the sixth week of each year. The city's young people choose the theme each year, and the School of Equality develops educational materials based on their selection. Staff at preschools, primary schools, community centers, and after-school programs are encouraged to make sexual health a priority and provide varied sex education tailored to the age and developmental stage of the young people they serve.
Other municipalities are welcome to join in.
2026: Safety and violence
The theme for Week6 in 2026 was safety and violence. For the campaign, the School of Equality partnered with UngRÚV to produce educational videos, education packages, discussion questions, activity ideas, and posters. These materials also include multilingual parent letters.
The campaign also features sexual health discussion boards designed specifically for youth centers. These boards are divided by age group, covering grades 5-7 and 8-10th
2026 education packages
Each year, the School of Equality publishes age-appropriate education packages built around the annual theme.
Educators can adapt this versatile material to fit the age and developmental stage of any group of children.

How do I teach sex education?
Sex education is about enhancing the sexual health of children and young people by examining social, emotional, physical, and mental aspects. Sex education is an important prevention against harassment, gender-based violence, and sexual violence as students learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, how to set and respect boundaries, and to respect themselves and others.
It is natural to have questions when teaching sex education. Below are answers to common questions and guidance on teaching sex education.
