The Reykjavík Education Policy is future oriented and focused on using digital technologies to enrich education and provide children with a wide range of opportunities for creativity and expression. The City provides learning devices for all students in grades 5-10 to support digital learning.

Own learning device

Digital Growth was an extensive program that ran through the 2021-2023 school years. It was focused on accelerating the adoption of digital technologies through the development of technological infrastructure and services, career development and consulting, the enhancement of digital skills and the targeted, responsible and progressive use of digital technologies in Reykjavík school and recreational activities.

Why personal learning devices?

Digital Growth was an extensive project to speed up digital tech adoption. The project builds tech infrastructure and services, offers staff training and counseling, and boosts digital skills. It promotes responsible, innovative tech use in City-run schools and recreational activities.
