About the preschool
The new nursery school at Hallgerðargata is tailored to the needs of young children from the ages of 12 months to three years. Children aged 12 to 24 months are enrolled, and parents need to apply for a transfer at the beginning of the year their child turns 3 years old. The preschool houses 60 children and operates in two divisions. Nursery schools take in children aged 12 to 24 months. You need to apply for a transfer to another preschool in the year your child turns 3 years old. The preschool has two locations; the other location is the nursery school in Bríetartún.
City of Reykjavík preschools follow the National Preschool Curriculum with reference to the Reykjavík City Education Policy. It focuses on encouraging children's discovery and play and making them active participants in a democratic society.
