Green Deal action

Reykjavík City Library's new policy is expected to be ready by fall 2024. Staff are also developing a new policy for Reykjavík Art Museum. City Museum has completed policy making and is in the implementation phase. Policies for City of Literature and Music City need to be developed.

January 2024 Reykjavík City Library's new policy is expected to be ready by fall 2024. A new policy for Reykjavík Art Museum is also in progress. City Museum has completed policy making and is in the implementation phase. Policies for City of Literature and Music City need to be developed.
July 2023

Policy making for City of Literature and Music City will happen in late November 2023, considering the City's Cultural Policy and the Green Deal.

January 2023 Several sub-policies in the Department of Culture & Sports have expired and need renewal. In light of the merger of the Department of Culture & Tourism and the Department of Sports & Leisure, this work was put on hold and will resume in 2023. The Reykjavík City Museum has completed its policy development.
July 2022 Several sub-policies in the Department of Culture & Tourism have expired and need renewal. The Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature policy has been renewed and is awaiting approval by the Culture, Sports and Recreation Council. The Reykjavík City Museum has begun policy development and plans to complete it by the end of 2022.
