Disabled people who cannot use public transportation or their own vehicle may be eligible for transportation service. The service helps people travel when they choose. Pant handles transportation service for disabled people.

Am I eligible for transportation service?

To qualify for this service, you need legal residence in Reykjavík and must meet one or more of these requirements:

  • Be mobility impaired and use a wheelchair.
  • Cannot use public transportation due to a disability.
  • Be blind.

Disabled children can receive transportation service when parents or guardians apply on their behalf.

How do I apply for the service?

Apply for transportation service online through My Pages.

You can also complete a PDF application and submit it at your local center.

What happens next?

We review your application based on eligibility criteria and your ability to use other transportation options. People can receive transportation service for part of the year when needed.

You will receive written notice about whether your application was approved or denied. Responses to online applications are posted on the transportation service application portal.

If your application is denied and you believe there are special reasons that warrant an exception to the rules, you can submit an appeal to the Welfare Council appeals committee.

Once your transportation service is approved, contact Pant, which provides the service.
