A public information meeting was held in February 2021 about the land-use planning work for Ártúnshöfði and Elliðaárvogur.

Agenda of the meeting
Pawel Bartoszek, deputy chair of the Planning Council opens the meeting: Emphases in development and the process ahead.

Address by the deputy chair of the Planning & Transportation Council
Pawel Bartoszek deputy chair of the Planning & Transportation Council reviews the opportunities involved in transforming the environment of Elliðaárvogur and Ártúnshöfði from an industrial area to mixed development in the heart of the City in close connection with Grafarvogur and Elliðaár.
Höfðinn – a new district in formation
Björn Guðbrandsson architect at Arkís reviews the basic ideas behind the planning proposals and how they relate to the City's policy on densification of development and connecting the area to CityLine.
Arkís are co-authors of the framework plan for the area that was approved in 2016 following an idea competition held in 2015. Arkís are also land-use planners for the expansion of Bryggjuhverfi.
Krossmýrartorg - a new center in the eastern part of the City
Páll Gunnlaugsson architect at ASK arkitektar reviews the current planning proposals up on Ártúnshöfði by Stórhöfði and Breiðhöfði.
The center of the area will be at Krossmýrartorg where a new culture house is planned in connection with a square and public park in connection with one of CityLine's main interchange stations in the eastern part of the City.
Elliðaárvogur – the city by the sounds
Sigurbjörg Helga Gunnbjörnsdóttir planner at Arkís reviews the current planning proposals down by Elliðaárvogur at Sævarhöfði.
Down by Elliðaárvogur the emphasis will be on residential development but service activities are also planned at selected locations that will serve the neighborhood. Two school buildings are also planned there in addition to a swimming pool out Grafarvogur.
