West Nordic Capital Fund, Board

The Board of the West Nordic Capital Fund comprises the mayors of the three capital cities: Reykjavík, Tórshavn, and Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq (Nuuk), along with two elected representatives from each city. 

General information about the Board configuration

The mission of the fund is to promote cooperation and understanding between politicians and residents in Reykjavík, Tórshavn, and Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq (Nuuk) through:

  • grants for cultural, educational, and sporting projects
  • as well as thematic debate on topical political issues in the West Nordic region.

Appointment of Reykjavík City representatives to the Fund's Board for 2026-2030

Mayor Hildur Björnsdóttir, along with city councilors Einar Þorsteinsson and Pétur Hafliði Marteinsson, serve on the fund's board through the end of the 2030 term.
