Urban Planning Viewer
In the Reykjavík City Urban Planning Viewer, you can access approved land-use plans and the Reykjavík City municipal plan. The service is open to everyone in Icelandic and free of charge.
What information is available in the Urban Planning Viewer?
The Web Viewer is divided into two parts. One part provides access to approved land-use plans and planning conditions. The other part shows Reykjavík's Municipal Plan (AR2010 - 2030), which outlines the City Council's general planning strategy for the entire city.
Users can also access the latest aerial photos of the city and selected themes from Reykjavík's geographic information system (LUKR). The municipal plan section offers the latest information on the amount and type of housing and population in selected areas.
Purpose of the Urban Planning Viewer
The Urban Planning Viewer aims to improve public and developer access to the City's current planning policies. Planning documents change constantly. It's important to ensure easy access to up-to-date digital versions of these plans.
Reykjavík City neighborhood planning
In the coming years, Reykjavík's neighborhood plans will replace traditional land-use plans. The District Viewer will then replace the land-use plan section of the Urban Planning Viewer.
