Seeking nominations for the 2024 Human Rights Award
Nominations are requested for the Reykjavík City Human Rights Awards 2024.
The purpose of the Human Rights Awards is to highlight Reykjavík City's Human Rights Policy and the importance of a society that respects human rights. Individuals, groups, associations, or institutions that have notably promoted human rights can be nominated. Reykjavík City presents the award each year at a formal ceremony at Höfði on May 16, the City's Human Rights Day.
Trans Iceland received the 2023 Human Rights Award. The organization has long advocated for the rights of transgender people in Iceland, and its work has fundamentally transformed public understanding of gender equality. The recipient of the Reykjavík City Human Rights Prize is awarded ISK 600,000.-
Who should receive the Reykjavík City Human Rights Award 2024?

The deadline for nominations is May 5, 2024.
The selection committee is appointed on a one-year basis and is made up of three individuals with professional backgrounds in equality and human rights.
