Events and City Festivals

Reykjavík City hosts multiple events and festivals throughout the year. The City has also contributed and provided support for various festivals over the years, notably through the City Festival Fund. Without a doubt, the highlight of event hosting in Reykjavík is Culture Night in August. This is a city center festival in its truest sense and draws a wide range of people.

City Festivals

Reykjavík City supports cultural festivals in the city with a three-year partnership agreement. The Reykjavík City Culture, Sports & Leisure Council calls for applications.

The festivals that become city festivals receive financial contribution and a three-year partnership with the City.

The goal of the collaboration is to support community, development, and the operational foundation of festivals in Reykjavík. Promote international connections, positive effects on tourism, and the image of Reykjavík.
