The City Council of Reykjavík invites you to an open citizens’ convention on the issues affecting children aged 0–6 years. Topics of discussion will include day care, care gaps, urban environment conditions, diverse family structures, and children's prosperity. Parents are especially encouraged to attend and share their views. Children are welcome and there will be a special children's corner in the City Hall during the convention where children remain under parental supervision. The Convention will take place in Icelandic.

  • Time: 11am–1pm, Saturday, June 8, 2024
  • Location: Reykjavík City Hall, Tjarnargata 11, 101 Reykjavík

In April 2023, the City Council approved a proposal to hold a citizens’ convention on preschool issues and the care of young children. Additionally, the new Democratic Policy and its action plan call for regular citizens' conventions on various matters, making this the first convention of its kind in Reykjavík. It is important to register.
