About the Ice Rink
- The Reykjavík Sports Association built and operates the facility under an agreement with City authorities.
- The Ice Rink is a large structure. It covers over 3,700 square meters, with the ice rink itself measuring 1,800 square meters. The Ice Rink accommodates up to a thousand people standing.
- Initially, emphasis was placed on public access to the ice rink. Judging by the high attendance, there was clearly a great need for this indoor rink for city residents.
- Capital area primary schools have used the facility extensively. Skating appears to be very popular among primary school students.
- The Reykjavík Skating Club practices at the Ice Rink. The club offers ice hockey and figure skating for people of all ages.
- A skating instructor works at the Ice Rink. Schools, groups, and individuals can book lessons in basic skating techniques and beginner ice hockey.
